Honour killings, FGM and the rest

I am not religious so am taking this from an “outside perspective”

I am well aware that in some cultures, FGM is unfortunately common. I know that I am taking this from a Western perspective but, hey, I live in the West.

So many young girls have been killed in the worst possible way and “all for religion”. The girls are forced to marry people that they do not love or want to be with but, in some families, that is not acceptable.

These families have chosen to live in the West and they must abide by the laws of our country. If they do not wish to, they must repatriate to their country of origin.

The men and it is always men, who murder these women and girls in such horrible ways should be behind bars for the rest of their lives. They will not change, prison will never reform them and they are a danger to every single woman or girl in their direct or extended families. What is most important? The lives of these girls and women or the so called human rights of these murderers?
