Putin is despised but is a very clever operator. He knows damn well that after the two world wars, Afghanistan et all, we have no stomach for war.
Putin has seen that, in the reduction in the sizes of the armed forces of every country in the West.
What the West must wake up to is that sanctions will never work with Putin; he does not care a monkeys, as he has built up a massive financial war chest. What Biden and Johnson has done with sanctions will be laughed at by Putin.
If Trump had still been in charge, we would have authorised troops to go and help Ukraine and we would have followed right behind him
This is serious people. The West WILL let Russian annexe the whole of Ukraine, even if the UK signed a support agreement to protect Ukraine.
And what then?
Do we just stand by whilst we let Putin annexe the Baltic states? Putin thinks so because the West is now impotent.
I will echo the comments that David Starkey, an eminent historian, made on GB News tonight and that is that we DO NOT WANT TO FIGHT.
What the hell is the bloody point of having the billions of pounds and dollars of military equipment if we are not going to use them. Putin wanted Biden in power as he is effective as a chocolate tea pot and could not organise a piss up in a brewery. Johnson, I may add, is not much better.
If we do not stand up to Putin, he will, bit by bit, TAKE OVER THE WEST, I PROMISE YOU. It will be a case of “we will give him that, we will give him a bit more! and so on. Before we realise it, we will all be Russian and if you think I am out of my head, just examine what he has done so far. He took over Crimea, we did nothing and he is now taking over Ukraine and in all reality, we are doing nothing.
Diplomacy has not worked; it would never work with Putin anyway, despite all of the ruminations of the western politicians and the pathetically weak speeches.
If we want to continue our lives as they are now and not be forced to speak Russian, our pathetic politicians of all of the western countries need to grow fucking backbones and grow some steel balls.
In my opinion, we need to do some direct things:
- Blow up Nordstream 1
- Blow up Nordstream 2
- We need the British and the US military to go into help the Ukrainians, not under the NATO banner but as two countries, to flatten the insurgency and to cut off one of Putin’s limbs
The West has been lulled into a sense that we are not at war but WE ARE. Our enemies may not be shooting us but they are committing war by the continued use of cyber attacks.
Let us face it. Many people have been poisoned and have died in the UK but we did nothing at all. We knew who did it; it was Russia under the orders of Putin. We know the cyber attacks have emanated from Russia but despite the massive damage done to our economy, WE DID FUCK ALL
Biden has waffled on about sanctions and even said that there would not be no military intervention; THAT GIVES PUTIN THE GREEN LIGHT
