Richi Sunak’s speech on the energy crisis

I watched his speech just now and quite frankly, it was complete hogwash.

He said that the price increases were outside the government’s control but that is completely wrong.

if the government had planned for the retirement of the large nuclear power stations, well in advance and had actually thought about the effect of the drive to wind energy, well in advance, then we would be energy independent as a country and the government would not have to bail out the country again, in billions of pounds, to mitigate the high energy cost that is particularly affecting the lower income families and individuals.

It is just pure short sightedness and the government are trying to get us to believe that they are doing us a favour, even though the failure is theirs.
