The Afghan refugees are already forgotten

Many Afghans were saved from the Taliban and are now held up in hotels, with no idea as to what to do next.

The problem is that yet again, the Home Office are dragging their feet. Of course, it is not in the media anymore, as recent events have superceded it, such as the murders of Sarah Everard, Sabina Nessa and the fuel crisis, thee Insulate Britain protests, the HGV crisis and potential food shortages with the possibility that Christmas will be cancelled again. Gosh, no pigs in blankets for your Christmas roast, how terrible, not!!!!!!

Sadly, the public and the Home Office have attention spans as good as a goldfish. Priti Patel did not even mention the Afghan refugees in her speech because issues around abuse of women is deemed far more “sexier” and would give Priti Patel more brownie points (and more clapping).

With the huge size of the Home Office and their massive budget as well as Priti Patel’s enormous ego, it seems that cannot deal with more than one task at the same time.

It is completely disgraceful. How would you feel, being stuck in a hotel for 24 hours a day, not knowing what holds for your future?
