Homes for the Afghan refugees – How long would it take to build this?

I have offered my field for temporary housing that could take at least 10 to 15 families and have designed a layout and basic construction.

There is a lot of talk about the government giving grants to councils for Afghan refugee housing and this is a very quick and relatively cheap solution. Three or four rows of homes in a line to cater for the slightly sloping field.

This would take no time at all. All the refugees want is to be with each other, to be safe and dry, not stuck in grotty hotels.

They can stay as long as they want.

Surely, this is a “no brainer”. I am sure there are many other land owners around the country who could do the same; we must do our bit and those with media exposure must push this. Better still, it will not interfere with people who have been waiting on the housing list.

It is quite noticeable that all of the very wealthy celebrities, who always have something to say, have gone very silent on this issue
