Afghanistan

I am writing this in a serious state of health. I have now had withdrawal symptoms for days, from my anti depressants because the surgery changes its opening times every 5 minutes and I could not pick up my medication. It got so bad yesterday that I had to call 999 (blood pressure sky high, with cold sweats, shaking, vomiting and diarrhoea as well as not being able to stand up without support; it continues today) and the two chaps were great but I will have to endure these awful withdrawal symptoms until tomorrow when I hope to god my meds have arrived.

That being said, I am pushing myself to write this, as the UK and US leaving Afghanistan, with absolutely no support for the Afghans, is not just a catastrophe but is a moral travesty.

We all know that the Taliban are in bed with Al Quadi and that both are in bed with Pakistan and we all know what the Taliban are like; they are worse than any German from WW2.

We cannot let the people of Afghanistan and particularly the women and girls be forced to live a life of servitude and abuse.

Forget about the Americans; they are and have always been an insular country and think only about themselves. But we are not like that, are we? We are a moral country and have never let another country be left to the wolves.

We now have two blooming great new aircraft carriers and I have to ask the question; what the hell did we build them for if we are going to leave the Afghans to their deaths?

We have thousands of soldiers and airman in their barracks twiddling their thumbs. Let them do what they are paid to do and want to do.

We need to reengage with Afghanistan; get rid of the corrupt Afghan government, install a provisional government and then save the many innocent people by blowing the Taliban into kingdom come, once and for all. It does not matter what it costs; what is the cost of many millions of lives?

If we do nothing, then I can assure you that the Taliban will wreak havoc on the West and on our country; many of our own innocent people will be killed and the government will be held accountable.

What the government needs to do is to ignore what the Americans have done, grow some balls and go back in.

I hear that parliament has been recalled. The British have always been the peace keepers of the world and we need to do what is really in our hearts and defend the Afghans.
