The Priory at night

Most, if not all, medical facilities have fewer staff on at night, for the simple reason that most patients are asleep, as I should be.

According to the hospital meal role, there are 27 patients, some not too bad, some bad and some very infirm and confused

There are 3 night staff for the whole hospital.

What if there was an emergency? All of the nurses would take care of that patient.

But what if something else happened? There would be no one to help those patients who needed their aid.

I will leave you to ponder on that but I will give you one fact. In the 11 days that I have been here, there has not been a single fire drill. In fact, I have not seen any notices as to what to do in an emergency. In every single hotel room, it is the law to state where the emergency exits are and where everyone should congregate in the case of an emergency; I have seen nothing at all. Most patients would not need help but those who are very confused would need a lot of help, as well as the elderly.

I will ask the question; would you send your unwell loved one to a place like this? Most of us have no choice but have to rely on lady luck
