Hitting a chord#3 (with everyone)

I have said plenty about Alzheimer’s now but it has hit a chord with so many people out there that it is worth noting a milestone. Over 500 hits for the first time ever. But, it is not a cause for celebration.

24 may#5

This is the final tally for the 24th May. It is roughly twice the highest previous hit count, since I started this blog

24 may final

But, I am not triumphant; after all, we are talking about a terrible disease. However, I am contented that my posts on Alzheimer’s and my ill father have drawn so much interest. Maybe this is not such a non caring world after all.

Now let the government take notice and put their hands in their pockets and spend some money finding a cure, rather than spending over £300 million (£319 million to be precise) for a tank project (FRES), where not a single vehicle was produced https://www.thinkdefence.co.uk/

The amount that the MOD waste on cancelled projects is just eye watering, all because they changed their minds

and why not have reworked the stunning Harrier and put them on our new carriers rather than spend a small fortune on US aircraft that were late and over budget (remember when the first one was launched, it had not a single plane)

MOD response

IT IS ALL POLITICS

Why spend money on finding a cure for Alzheimer’s when those people are old and are going o die anyway? THAT is the mindset of the politicians; until it happens to them or a family member

Say you are having an extension done, cost £100,000. At the end, the builder says there were cost overruns and you now have to pay £150,000. That is how defence procurement works

You would not accept it, would you? But because the government is awash with vast amounts of money and it is your money by the way, it does not matter what they pay.

WE NEED TO GET OUR PRIORITIES RIGHT

THAT IS ONE OF THE MANY REASONS THAT I DO NOT VOTE ANYMORE
