I have yet to come to a conclusion on this new original series but I just want to say this.
There is an awful lot of nudity and eroticism in this programme, especially in the early episodes and that worries me for our children.
I am no prude and find the female form very alluring, especially tasteful naked scenes; not like in certain adult magazines that I read as a hot blooded teenager, where everything was shown; it was “engaging” then but takes away the mysticism of a woman, in all her glory.
Neither of my parents taught me the facts of life; I learned it from magazines and then fumbled through late teenage life until I had got it right
Let us be frank; regardless of when a programme is on these days, children watch them; in this context, mainly boys.
Children grow up far too quickly these days and quickly lose their innocence. We are encumbant, as a hopefully moral society, to shield our young children from this sort of “entertainment”.
Everything on the normal television channels has no “age censor”, just the films on film channels and I have to say that “The New Pope” is an example of a programme that should be certified.
Yes, you can put parental controls on channels but who really does that?
The old 9pm watershed does not really exist anymore; does it?
