A wish

This is a very personal wish and is nothing to do with the family; I have said enough about all of that but, of course, it will resurface time after time.

I had no interest to learn a music instrument when I was younger; i was always far more interested in the sciences rather than the arts.

After the operation to remove my brain cancer that has certainly dictated my life, I was told by the surgeon that I would never play the piano or another musical instrument, as I had lesser manipulation in my left hand than for my right.

It did not bother me for quite some time but over the last ten years or so, I have also had the desire to make music but because of my “infirmity”, I have done nothing about it.

But as I have got older, with the time clock ticking away, that desire has become much stronger. Even if I could, I have no desire to play a rock guitar but an acoustic guitar is something very different or maybe even play the piano as the creation of music is something so very special.

My wish, before I die, is to play a few chords on a guitar or to play some music on the piano but my teacher would really have to want to as it may take time. I cannot read music so that is yet another obstacle.

Here is hoping

Being taught by the likes of Brian May, Roger Taylor or Tony Banks would be something so very special
