Here we have an advert that includes many cliches that we are all familiar with. But, of course, it results in the denigration of men.
- A man is seen dancing at a hospital with his bare bum showing
- A builder is seen drilling with his builders’ bum showing.
- Two men are seen sitting at a bar with Speedos on, with the bums forced apart
None of those scenarios would have included a woman as that is seen as “non PC” but men, as far as the advertising industry is concerned, are fair game
But a woman is included, putting on a pair of perfectly fitting jean shorts.
This advert is nothing short of pure and unadulterated sex discrimination against men.
I will not be contacting the Advertising Authority, which is supposed to monitor such adverts and ban them if necessary. However, from past experience, the Advertising Authority is completely impotent and is disinterested in such gender bias and sex discrimination against men. Sex discrimination against women is instantly banned but, as I have said before, men are just considered fair game and we have to just put up with it.
I will leave it to public pressure instead.
