You all know that I was subject to false allegations of sexual abusing and physically harming Verity and it is a very sensitive subject for me, as I am sure that you can imagine.
I really enjoy the Inspector Lynley Mysteries and I think that I have now watched every episode, at least once.
Today I am watching the episode “Chinese Walls”. It was one of the last ever but having watched all of them, I believe that this episode is the most powerful.
No crash bang wallops like Hollywood productions, just good old, very well made, British drama.
Part of the investigation of the murder of a young woman involved her father. Through various links, it had pointed to him that the young woman’s step sister had been sexually abused by her father but not her.
It just makes me wonder. Was Verity abused by her step father or a family member and was it that she so readily agreed to the false allegations because she was actually angry with me for not protecting her? And does she hold that secret still, from everyone, save the abuser?
I wonder. It would take a very brave and mature Verity to openly admit that she had been abused and who it was but, if this is the case, I know something for sure. She would not face admitting that in open court or to the Police and would rather purjur herself than relive that horrible time in front of people both close and not close to her
