It is normally….

……the role of a father to protect his family, it is a matter of honour and

a parent should also sacrifice his or her happiness for the children, if necessarily for the rest of his or her life

Blowing my trumpet aside, I have dome that for all of my life, even driving myself to a point of mental exhaustion causing me to be hospitalised, with the end result of ending my career.

If I had a crystal ball, I would have just walked away from that job and my daughter and started afresh, maybe even in another country.

If I had done that, I would still have my career and my self respect; self respect is very important to any person, especially a man who has brought that family is the most important entity and, if necessary, everything should be sacrificed for the family, which I did.

But no longer

I am no longer going to sacrifice my happiness and my life for the sake of my daughter; it is time that my daughter makes the sacrifice and that will be her career.

She will never be destitute, as she will just leach off the trust (she leached off me for years), have an undemanding job and be a party goer, as has always been her want. After all, her moniker was “Verityparty” or something like that.

It is time for me to take back my own life, to be selfish for a change and not worry about anyone else.
