If you get married, yes you are still two individuals, but you are a couple as you state as such in the vows that you make before a registrar or a priest, as you give yourself to each other.
So, I will never understand why so many so called modern women decide to keep their maiden names. I can just about understand it (just) for so called superficial “A” list celebrities but not for anyone else.
In marriage, one gives oneself to the other and you effectively become one. I am extremely sad that these women do not take the husband’s surname. If I ever got married again, it would be a probable deal breaker for me as it is part of our culture and the cultures of most societies but that is being eroded these days.
If a wife will not take my surname or me take her’s (although I would then have an issue with Verity as she is a Hender) but it has happened as it was an acquaintance of mine, then the only conclusion that one can make is that a wife is holding something back from her husband.
It goes further than that. Wives having secret bank accounts financed by hiving money from the joint family income. Few men do it so why do women?
Because of the imbalance in the justice system and their propensity to act and cry on queue, women will get the lion’s share anyway.
It just goes to show that most women are generally greedy and just want more and more
