This is not to do with marriage or engagement but is actually to do with the promise that my father gave to Rosanna insofar that as I did not have any capital, my father promised Rosanna that “the family would ensure that they were well catered for if we divorced”. This was said in my presence.
Now a promise of this sort is actually a verbal contract, which has been broken.
As my father reneged on this contract, I would be prepared to support Rosanna in her endeavour to get a better house for her and her boys, on the strict proviso that the money that I paid to her is taken into account.
This thought has been triggered by the comment left by Beverly.
To be honest, I do not remember her at all but she said some very kind words about me. She recognised me for what I am, someone who cares about others as much as I care abut myself, sometimes much more, as I have proved in the past.
Maybe this is worth pursuing.
